Healing Through Action

Healing-Quarternote Counseling

Action-oriented therapy, also called experiential therapy, expands and deepens the purely verbal method of therapy by simultaneously engaging the body, mind and emotions. It is available in both individual and group settings. Many clients uneasy with conventional therapy, including adolescents, find this modality more comfortable than conventional therapy. Quarternote Counseling LLC offers three types of action-oriented therapy:

EQUINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY: Sessions are held in an enclosed area with three horses at a nearby farm. Horses are sensitive to non-verbal communication and respond to messages clients provide in the moment. Participants learn about themselves and others by participating in unmounted activities. ROLE PLAY: Clients use movement, gesture, sound and action to connect with memories and experiences that might not be accessible otherwise. Click to read more about Role Play…

ECO-THERAPY: This approach involves contact with nature and some research suggests it can be as effective as medication in addressing various mental health challenges. Clients are invited to explore a 42 acre farm with trails, woods and a pond as they participate in their therapy session. Click to read more about Eco-Therapy…
